About Me
Hi, I'm Kristl, the heart and hands behind Meadow Street Baking Company, based in Harrison, New York.
My journey to baking is anything but conventional. I spent years as an oil trader, and while it was exciting, it eventually left me burnt out and craving something completely different. I had never baked a day in my life but sometimes, the things we never expect become the things we love most.
I signed up for weekend baking classes on a whim, and something just clicked. I fell so deeply in love with baking that I walked away from my trading career and enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris to study French pastry, topping my class in my very first term.
After graduating, I interned at the renowned Parisian éclair boutique L'Éclair de Génie, before returning to Singapore to open my own café. My journey eventually brought me to New York, where I had the honour of working at the three-Michelin-starred Eleven Madison Park, one of the world's most celebrated restaurants.
In 2017, I welcomed my first child and stepped away from the kitchen to focus on family. A few years later, I found my way back to baking, quietly, from home, for friends who kept asking for more. I officially launched Meadow Street Baking Company in 2024, bringing custom cakes and cookies to the Westchester community.
However, in 2025, I took a break to focus on my health and it became a turning point for the way I thought about food. I began exploring functional medicine and the healing power of food, and learned just how powerfully what we eat affects how we feel. It changed everything.
Now, as I step back into the kitchen in 2026, I'm baking with a new sense of purpose. At Meadow Street Baking Company, every treat is made with wholesome, premium ingredients, organic flours, fresh fruits, no artificial colourings, no preservatives. Just real, honest food that tastes as good as it makes you feel.
Because I believe that the food we share with the people we love should nourish them too. That's my promise to this community and I can't wait to bake for you.
Love,
Kristl
